the hotel by the beach

an unrivalled & stunning location in Falmouth

a history of our family run hotel

1976 - The Evans Family, the owners, first moved to Falmouth in 1975 and purchased the neighbouring St Michael's Hotel, establishing it as Cornwall's first Hotel and Conference Centre with en-suite rooms and an indoor leisure complex.

1983-84 - At the bottom of the St Michael's Hotel gardens was a run down hotel called The Pentargan and to the left of it a small hotel called The Croft. The Pentargan Hotel was purchased and virtually rebuilt by our own in house building team. This was a day and night programme for five months, costing £1.1 million. The Falmouth Beach Hotel opened for business in 1984 with 66 rooms.

1986-88 - A new ground floor restaurant and kitchens are added to the hotel.

1991 - The adjoining apartment block building is annexed to the hotel comprising another 11 rooms. The hotel now has 78 bedrooms.

1992 - The Feathers Bar and Terrace are added to the ground floor.

1993 - Tremor and The Cottage are annexed to the hotel which now has 91 bedrooms.
