The Reception
It is traditional at the reception for the immediate families to meet the guests.The order is as follows; The bride and groom, bride's father and groom's mother, followed by the groom's father and bride's mother with the bridesmaids and best man completing the list. This procedure ensures that both families have the opportunity to speak to all their guests and to introduce all sides of each family to the other.
Toastes and Speeches
The bride's father toasts the couple. The groom replies on behalf of the bride and himself thanking the bride's parents for the wedding and the guests for coming and proposes a toast to the bridesmaids.
