The Bride
Selects the service and chooses the dresses for herself and the bridesmaids.
The Bridegroom
Selects the best man and the ushers, buys the rings and buys presents for the bridesmaids, best man and ushers as a gesture for their help. The groom buys flowers for the bride, both mothers and buttonholes for himself, the best man and the ushers, and he also arranges transport for himself before the service and for himself and the bride after the wedding.
The Best Man
Is the groom's right hand man, he takes care of the rings and makes sure that the groom gets to church on time! He pays the church fees on behalf of the groom. He checks the transport for the guests to the reception and that the honeymoon travel arrangements are complete.
The Chief Bridesmaid
Helps the bride to dress, holds the bouquet during the service and organises the other bridesmaids.
The Bride's Father
Gives his daughter away. He traditionally pays for the wedding dress, bridesmaids'dresses, cars (except the groom's), photographs, church and reception flowers, invitations and press announcements.
The Bride's Mother
Is traditionally in charge of all proceedings. She decides on the guest list together with the groom's mother, organises the catering including the wedding cake. After the ceremony, the bride and groom and both sets of parents greet the guests at the reception.
